The "Hope House" The Hope House is
a church-owned property, formerly “the Manse,” that is used to
provide transitional housing for
those in need. It's
operation is administered by FAITH
Homes of Donegal. Our congregation participates in the building's
upkeep and offers help whenever possible.
The house is typically occupied rent-free for only a couple of months
while the residents stabilize their lives.
We provide a mentor to work with the family, as needed. HOPE HOUSE MAY 2011 UPDATE: Hope House Update On
May 7-8, our dad and his daughter will be moving out of the Hope House. He has accomplished some of his goals --
finding a job, opening a bank account, and saving money. He has found an apartment in Our
Program: An Overview We are now affiliated with FAITH Homes of
Donegal, which has 4 houses in FAITH Homes is planning some activities to
acquaint everyone in the community with the program. The mission will
only be successful with the help of the community, through donations of time
and money. Be on the lookout for this information in the Witness and
the Merchandiser. We appreciate any
and all the help we can get whether it be
volunteering, donations-in-kind, or money. Please don't hesitate to ask
for any information about this mission. We could always use more
mentors. There will be mentor training coming soon. Please pray for
this mission---none of us are far away from homelessness at any time,
especially in this economy. --Barb Eckert, Judy Kay Bard, Suzanne Burger WANTED - Someone to organize and oversee the cleaning of the
